Self Health Care & Rehab Center is squeamish and in a carve up building than the nursing home. The staff is practiced. My mother-in-constabulary has a private room, and the place has civilities.

The facility itself is visually nice. The care my grandmother received from the nursing staff was skilful - for the virtually office. I really liked the nurses I met. However, she did not receive a bath the eighteen days she was there which we did not know almost until later in the stay. My grandmother can be very difficult nigh bathing (typical of elderly) because she is terrified near falling but I can't believe she did not have one bath the entire stay. The admin/social work side of this place is awful. Typically a facility like this volition help you lot work through the Medicaid process. And typically they even apply for yous but at the very least they help you. They tried to make the states believe that if nosotros did non hire an chaser - and ane they coerced us to utilise - that my grandmother would be discharged until Medicaid was canonical or we would have to pay out of pocket. This may or may not be the fault of the social worker. I do not know. Information technology may just be bad policy of the facility itself the social worker must abide by but they are admittedly useless..

Self Health Care and Rehab Center is wonderful. So far we have been actually happy with it. It'southward centrally located betwixt my iii siblings, and it'due south one of the reasons that we got it. The biggest thing was that we were able to get her into a private room. The room is dainty and large, and nosotros have her set up with the nurse, but then we have been able to put our furniture in there. She has a living room area also. The staff is absolutely nifty. Nosotros are very happy with the nurse that takes intendance of her on a daily footing, and so the caregiver that works with mother with her personal care is very good.

This is an excellent facility. Staff are very accommidating . My Merely complaint is the food. My mom is on a no salt/no sugar diet. Dietary had a VERY hard fourth dimension sticking to this. It got to the point where she refused to swallow anything because they could non tell her if had salt in it (processed or can). I experience like if you lot cook it...you should know what'southward in it. Hopefully they volition be able to fix the dietary problems. I would definitely recommend this facility.

I visited this facility
Excellent run facility; friendly staff; adm helping with Medicaid applications and working with family unit members; well run and came highly recommended from an assisted liviing facility nearby which was not at that time licensed to care for avant-garde dementia patients.

I am a friend or relative of a resident
I was very pleased with the love and attention not to mention the care that she received while residing at this facility. Her nurses were very caring and loyal. They made her smile when she was a bit downwards and they comforted her when she was inconsolable. The activities director at this facility was absolutely the best in all of the country; she fabricated sure that my grandmother was not left out of anything; from Bingo in the deli, to the spa twenty-four hours when they had the residents hair fixed and their fingernails and even the toenails painted if thats what they wanted. My grandmother loves Elvis, so they even had a look alike come in and have small concerts for them. We couldn't have asked for better care or assistance in her recovery. I would definately use them again if e'er the time should come. The only complaint I had was the smell. I know that can't be helped because every single one of the nursing homes that I visited smelled the same way; medication, booze and clorox just like the hospitals.

From what I've seen the facility is very squeamish. The workers are always very humble to the family members also every bit the patients within. I've never seen whatever sort of trouble with the nursing home itself or annihilation else inside the nursing home. The owner of the nursing home, Mr. Self, stops by oftentimes to check through and brand sure things are flowing, every bit they should. Much like the employees that he has, he himself is a very nice person and very friendly to the residents and their family members. We even held a birthday political party for my 96 year old grandmother who is in the nursing home and the employees had just as much fun beingness there as nosotros did. They were always in that location if we needed annihilation at all or whatever assist with drinks, ice, or anything you tin imagine that could be needed during that time. It's a great facility.
